One More Skirt

I made this skirt about a month ago and I just realized I never posted about it! It's very similar to this skirt that I made back in November.

This skirt came out a wee bit wider than the green one. The green one is 90 inches and this brown one is 98 inches wide. Not much winder but I can tell the difference when I'm wearing it.

Just like Ginny at Small Things - two of my favorite things are reading and knitting - just not at the same time. That would be difficult!

I'm currently working on a lap blanket to get rid of some of my smaller left over yarns. I'm also working on a scarf (just a K1, P1 rib) with yarn that I have spun myself. It's exciting to see something you've made be put to use.

The book I'm reading is Jubal Sackett by Louis L'amour. My favorite author.

Winter Headband

A few weeks ago (before we warmed up) in the mornings it was still chilly enough to need your ears covered but it was warm enough that you didn't need a full hat. I didn't have a headband so I decided to knit one up.

Size 6 US Needles

I used Lion Brand Alpine Wool bought at Joann's.

Cast on 16 sts and work these two rows:

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: *P1, K2* Repeat from * to last st, P1

Continue these two rows until your desired length.

Finish by sewing the ends together.

Nice And Cozy!

My littlest brother popped a seam on his mittens so he got a nice, new, warm pair.

Knit by his loving big sister. I used this pattern (same as all my other mittens) but used a size 3 needle for a tighter weave and smaller fit. He's four years old and they fit wonderfully!

Since they're wool they stay warm even when wet but no child (including me) likes to play with wet mittens so my next project is to make another pair for when these get soaking.
