Changing Colors

We have a wonderful family friend who keeps her ears open for our family. When she sees things or hears of people getting rid of things we use she scoops them up for us. We are truly blessed to have her as a friend.

She recently picked up some 100% wool yarn for me. 6 skeins to be exact. 3 burgundy and 3 yellow. So . . . . . . I decided to play around with the yellow and dye it green!

Here's what happened to it:
First you have to soak the yarn to get it wet or the color will adhere to the yarn funny. I used food coloring to dye it! In a pot I added 16 drops of green, 8 drops of blue, and 8 drops of red. Add two glugs of vinegar and simmer it for about 30 - 40 minutes. Let cool (Until you can handle it) in the pot and then rinse until the water runs clear.
