I'm going to have to take quite a long break from this blog!

Too much going on in my life right now. With my baby boy and the farm taking most of my time I don't have time to keep up with it!

PLUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby #2 is coming February 2017!!!!!

So until a later time. So long!

New Adventures!

So many things to report!

Shearing went well... We had someone come out and do it. Maybe next year Hubby will try his hand at it.

We lost one ewe to an injury this spring :-( And out of our 3 ewes left we got 5 lambs! 3 boys and 2 girls...

THEN I was busy making cloth pads for my friends and to sell... I still have one set left.
Flannel topper | Zorb core | Leak proof PUL layer | Flannel backer to prevent shifting | $35 {Free Shipping}

And I decided to become a consultant with Imagine Baby Products and can't wait to see where that takes me. Simply click on the banner below to buy through me. Cloth Diapering is THE best - Best for baby and the environment.

Cloth for Mama?

I've been busy working on these lately...

Cloth menstrual pads. I use cloth on my baby so why not on mama. I actually used them for 3-4 years before I was married! My mom used cloth on my little siblings... I like having cloth on my rear rather than plastic!!!

I copied a pad I had bought off etsy for my shape and used this gals tutorial to put them together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEARLPuWjOo

These ones, in the picture, are flannel and pul... I have a fabric called wic-away (I think that's what it's called. I got it in the diaper section at my local Joann's) that I was going to use for homemade breast pads but since I don't need those anymore :-( I'm going to make a  few with that as well and see which I like better!

I've researched a bit about Zorb (an absorbent fabric).... The website (wazoodle.com) says that it's equivalent to 4 layers of flannel. I'm planning on getting some of that as well to play with but for now I'm using 4 layers of flannel in my core.

Long Time - No Post

So this little guy has been taking all my time lately!!! 2 months old already!!! My how time flies!

I have managed to finish one of his sweaters! I've had only the one sleeve to finish for quite a while and I finally just made time to sit down and finish it while he napped one day.
I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn that I had on hand and the Flax pattern by Tin Can Knits

Very easy pattern that I would recommend to ANYONE!

Getting back into the swing of life after giving birth... We had more nursing problems :-( and we made the decision to switch to formula. I will definitely be trying again with my next baby (Lord willing)!

I'm still working on one more sweater for him... I'm not sure I can get it done before he out grows it!!!! He's growing like a weed! Already in 3-6 month clothes but part of that is because I cloth diaper.

Hubby bought me a new sewing machine!!!! I'm having some fun with that - When Aharon lets me get in my sewing room. It also has an embroidery package with it that I'm excited to learn to use but that will have to wait for a bit. I've got curtains for my entire house on my mind right now.

Here he is in one of my sweaters!!! The sleeves turned out a bit too short. but it works with a long sleeve onsie underneath.

Oh! I love being a mommy!!!!!

December 21st

My baby boy was born December 21st! Meet Aharon!

His birth story is quite interesting and I will be sharing it soon! Other than struggling with nursing for a bit, figured out that he has a shallow latch on my right side, life with baby has been fun! He's been such a great boy! Already sleeping 4 hours at a time! Still working on healing my sore and cracked nipple from his shallow latch, which is difficult while I still have to use it, and working on fixing his latch.

And actually... out of all the hats in the pictures, I didn't make a single one! The top one was from the hospital and the other 2 my sister made for him. I have made quite a few and will, hopefully, get them posted soon (can't promise anything with Aharon around now).

Winter Cosies

I bought yarn and have started a sweater for myself. I think I'll have to buy one more skein though. I miscalculated... I'm using Knit Picks new Tuff Puff yarn and really like the feel of it.

I also bought yarn for a sweater for Baby. I can't wait to start that! I REALLY like the color as well. I'm a bit jealous... I may have to make a "matching" sweater... I like it that much.

Hubby needed new slippers because he wore holes in the last pair I made him. I used the Opa Slippers pattern.

I made my mom a pair of slippers using the Oma Slipper pattern...

And the only other thing I've made recently is a polar fleece tie blanket. You can never have too many blankets! Especially when you live in an old farmhouse where the insulation isn't the best.

Currently on my needles/hooks is my sweater and a pair of mittens for a friend. And next up on my list is a sweater for Baby, Boot Cuffs for a friend, mittens for hubby, and a couple other things for Baby.

And I'll add in a few pictures of my sheep and goats... because they're just so darn cute!

Baby Sweater

So I've had this sweater almost done for a while now! I finally sat down and finished the second sleeve and put the buttons on!

Yarn: Stash
Color: Green and Blue
Pattern: Puerperium Cardigan
Notes: I used a heavier worsted weight and the sweater ended up being more like a 3-6 month size instead of newborn... I would recommend using a light weight worsted or a DK weight.

Baby Hat

Yarn: Acrylic from Stash
Color: Blue
Pattern: Baby Amanda Hat
Notes: This is a really simple, yet putsy, pattern. But the end result looks really cool!!!!! I only did 1.5 lace repeats on the top part. I did it in blue and it totally will work for my little guy! Even though it is a "girl" pattern.
